We found a new, or new to us, service this time in Mexico. Wayak.com is a transportation company, that uses private cars and drivers. Three times we chose this mode of transportation, as the flight schedules were crazy with long layovers. They drove us from Merida to Valladolid, and again from Valladolid to Playa del Carmen, our last stop in the Yucatan.

First stop, the Yucatan peninsula to visit some cities we hadn’t seen before, as well as to go back to the beach in Playa del Carmen. Merida, in the middle of the dry jungle, entertained us for two weeks. Warm, yes, but breezy and easy going at the same time. In this region of Spanish wine making, no artificial watering can take place, so the vintners are at the mercy of the weather for their rain.
